Throwing Large Masterclass

Saturday April 26th to Sunday April 27th

Get to grips with scaling up, centering larger lumps of clay, and constructing in sections with this intensive weekend masterclass on scaling up your throwing! Gain confidence producing larger work, as Brian Dickenson shares his expert guidance honed over a 30 year career in pottery making.

Those with considerable experience, or those just starting to explore larger forms, will have plenty of one to one tuition tailored to their level over the two days. Running from 10-4 daily with a half hour lunch break, each student will have all the materials and clay they need to get the most of the weekend. Please note that lunch is not provided as part of this course, but that there is a cafe on site at Middleport.

About the tutor

Brian’s speciality is thrown functional wares and he has opperated three professional workshops producing high-fired Stoneware, mid-temperature Slipware and more recently traditional Earthenware. This course will benefit those who have some experience of making work, but feel unable to progress and are struggling to scale up their making.
