Throwing Taster Day – 18th May

Have you ever wanted to try your hand at making a pot on the wheel? Now is your chance! This taster session is aimed at people with very limited or no experience of throwing who wish to have a go.

During the taster session, you will try out the basic skills and techniques needed to centre and throw basic forms. There will be a range of demonstrations followed by sessions for throwing facilitated by the Tutor. The session will last for three hours and you will have plenty of one-to-one guidance as well as group demonstrations.

Saturday 18th May – 12.30 – 3.30 pm.

Situated in the historic Middleport Pottery, the College offers a creative environment and excellent facilities including a potter’s wheel for each student. We are sadly not able to fire any of the pieces from this throwing taster session, but that frees you up to not worry about what you end up with and just focus on the fun of throwing – you’ll be amazed how quickly the time goes.
